What is the most attractive way to fill a large urn with flowers, this is for outside.?
Go to your local greenhouse and look at urns they have filled. Often, urns filled with a variety of plants have lots of visual interest. They usually have a variety of color, height and texture.

Then, think of an anchor color that pleases you. It might be red, or pink, or whatever. Find plants--impatiens are good--for the center. Then find a plant that will trail over the side and down, one with some more height, and then one in a complementary color and with texture.

Make sure you fill the urn so that it looks lush. You will need to water thoroughly every day, and I recommend a plant food, like Miracle Gro, about once a week.
Reply:Impatiens are good, bloom constantly, love shade or part sun. More blooms for the buck then most. Use a single color. Red gives a pretty splash with Hostas around. Plant them about 6" apart. Impatiens want water. Every couple days.

Good luck.
