It is the time of birth
the birds in chorus sing
they sit aloft the dogwood trees
and welcome in the spring
flowers not yet smiling
have just begun to grin
tall budding, beautiful branches
nesting the newly born wren
spring time springs upon the land
and sweeps too swiftly by
summertime shows its smiling face
as the weathered air, starts to dry
the short startling showers
were stifled with smiling sun
the youth of spring behind us now
life's course has now begun
fall falling faster
with every breath we take
summertime fades; as green to brown
as the leaves fall to the lake
falling even faster now
as the months march by
wintertime is approaching
the flowers slowly die
as if a lioness encroaching,
winter leaps into the scene
and covers the Earth in heavy silence
as we fall asleep to dream.
What do you think of my poem, Spring Course?
The wording and phrasing is brilliant, but it is irritating at which speed it goes by. It just generalizes too much and brisks away some of the important things. Better to lengthen the poem rather then just ending it so quickly.
Reply:I, for one, love it. The rhyming works and doesn't seem forced, unlike some other poems. It really captures spring and its meaning.
Reply:bravo that all I have to say
