Purple Summer is a type of flower that blooms in the summer instead of spring. The song is quite sad, actually. I think the song can be open to individual interpretation, but in my opinion, it is about how through happy and sad times, life goes on. Eventually everyone goes through the loss of innocence and sadness like the characters in SA go through. The happiness and "flowers" of "spring" die, and life may seem like it is miserable, but eventually the purple summer blooms, and there is beauty in life again.
