What are good flowers to plant that don't attract bees?

Looking mostly for things that will bloom in the spring. Have severe alergy issues with bees, so need to have something that won't attract bees.

You can try a foliage garden - things like hosta, ferns, caladiums, small shrubs, different grasses, etc. Maybe something like a rock garden with foliage accents. No flowers to attract bees, and minimal upkeep as well. Just in case tho, keep that epi pen handy!

Reply:I cannot think of any flowers off-hand that do not attract bees. Bees play an important part in the reproductive cycle of flowering plants. Supposedly insects are more attracted to flowers in the warm color range, especially reds and oranges, so perhaps you could plant flowers that aren't in those hues. I don't notice too many bees around my flowering bulbs in spring in my climate (northern midwest), at least not nearly as many as in summer and fall. I would be wary of planting herbs, though, as my herb bed is constantly filled with fat bumble bees. They're usually on my mint, lavender, chives, and hyssop.

Reply:hard to plant a flower that will not attract a bee. If you must have plants. try planting ferns or maybe a herb garden. you can plant mint or parsley and eat them too.
