I need some ideas for a "spring" wedding shower centerpiece. i'm helping my mother-in-law...?

we're doing the wedding shower for her neice. it's going to be an out of town wedding, so this will kinda be like the reception also. she told me i'm in charge of centerpeices for 6-10 tables. the only guidelines she gave me was 'spring flowers'... and just whatever i wanted to do. i'm hitting a roadblock as far as ideas. the only thing i've found pictures of are floating candles, and alison doesn't like those. if you have any suggestions, i would deeply appreciate them! the shower is may 3rd. or was it the 2nd? help!!!

Daisy's or Tulups are probally the best and prettiest for a spring or summer wedding. try adding some ribbon in with the flowers along with babys breath.

if you dont want flowers try a small candle holder with hearts and angels cut outs on it.

if you feel adventerous try combining the ideas, do flowers with a few candles in candle holders around the flower vase.

the ideas are unlimited, i make a 3 tier candle holder out of white birch for my friends wedding since it was outdoors. it went well with the theme, just be creative and let your creative juices flow. visit a design and crafts store for inspiritation and talk to employees there, they are always full of ideas!
Reply:I like the look of different colored gerbera daisies standing in a clear vase. Or you could match the wedding colors! I have been to many where there are 3-4 per vase, and it just gives the colorful look of spring, with the more casual look of a shower. :)
Reply:I would consult your local florist for some guidance, in general I would only use flowers with bright pastel colors. Lilies, orchids, carnations, and baby's breath made into small symmetrical arrangements in tasteful inexpensive clear glass vases with pink ribbon tied around them would be just splendid. In fact, to save on costs and if you are not getting reimbursed for anything, you could buy the vases at a local crafts store; and just buy the flowers separately from any source you choose. Inexpensive vases are also available in boutique shops, department stores, and at times even from a private florist or a florist operation at your local supermarket. Remember not to go overboard, keep things simple and above all, if you get the flowers in advance, keep them in the refrigerator to preserve freshness, etc.
Reply:i think the easiest and prettiest thing ever is just flowers in a vase.
