their was no pollination. give it a good shake when flowers are on it, becuase the presence of bees must be a mimimal if no pollination occured
Reply:It depends on where you live in Northern California. Trees grow all over our state, by the way. I am guessing that your tree may need some more water. Put a circle of dirt around the tree and build it up. It will keep the water to the tree and not all over the rest of the area. Make sure that you are watering every other day and every day if it is really warm. Good luck.
Reply:Also....

most fruit trees don't bear fruit until they are between 3-5 years old.

Edited after noted your location: oranges won't grow in northern california ~ the weather is much too cold. Are you sure this an orange tree or is it a "mock orange" (also known as a syringa)?
Reply:Fruit trees are really gross feeders, they need lots of good fertilizer, compost, manure, mulch, and water to be happy. Are you giving it all of that? Also, it is a young tree, so even if it did fruit now I would take the fruit off before they grew. Give it a chance to put its energy into growing first, then let it fruit.
