What flowers will grow best on my SoCal patio?

I'd like to get some nice big pots out there. Any that will bloom in late Fall? Or what can I plant now for Spring?

There are a lot of things you can plant, here are just a few suggestions...

Verbena, Petunia, Calibrachoa, Nemesia, Angelonia, Calendula, Primula, Viola, Pansy, Mums, Rudbeckia, Cosmos, Schizanthus, Linaria, Cheiranthus, Coleus, Gypsophila, Lobelia, Alyssum, Dianthus, Snapdragons, Ornamental Cabbage and Kale, Forget-Me-Not, Stock, Iceland Poppies and Cyclamen.

You can also plant your bulbs now for spring color and then remove the plants you have planted now for fall color when they are looking tired. Replace with your spring color!

It's always best to take a look around your local nursery to see what they are stocking this time of year!

Hope this helps you some.

Seriously, in So Cal, you may want to plant Bougainvillea - it's a vine, so you will need a trellis or something else for it to climb. The downside to it is that is does have some thorns. But the flowers are gorgeous, it blooms a long time, and there are a ton of different colors to choose from...
