Which ones? If none, then how soon should I be able to plant next year? and what? I already planted my bulbs. I prefer butterfly attracting or fragranced flowers. And I definately need something to come up when the bulbs die down (I guess June)
Also, what are those bushes/trees that are white in the spring? what are the purple ones?
Can any flowers be planted in December in NC (Piedmont)?
Pansies are some of the most popular flowering hardy plants that can survive the winter. The white flowering trees you see in the spring are probably Bradford pear trees and the purple may be a plum or cherry. These tress usually do not produce any fruit (or edible fruit at least), they are mainly for appearance. The Bradford pear is popular for its spring color and fast growth, but it gets damaged easy by wind and ice.
Reply:You can plant pansies, snapdragons, calendulas, ornamental cabbage/kale.
You have a lot of other questions too numerous to answer here.
Also, you'll have to be more specific than white and purple in the spring.
