What is the best flowers to plant?

I am moving into a new home at the end of the month. Come spring time I am going to have a lot of yard work to do. The yard has some nasty bushes in the yard that are getting pulled up. I am going to planet a tree, but I don't know what flowers I am going to plant. I want to plant some roses but I am not sure yet. Any ideas to help me?

What is the best flowers to plant?
If you want your yard to look nice from Spring to Fall, then you need to plant flowering plants that flower at different times. You should first plant bulbs, such as tulips, daffodils, Lillis, and so on because they are early bloomers and flower in early Spring. They should already be in the ground for next Spring, but you can plant them as soon as you get a Chance. Then you want to plant some plants that flower all summer to keep the yard looking nice, since bulbs flower early and die within one month and won't flower until the following year. These are your Roses and four O'clocks, Canas and so on. And then you want to plant other plants that flower at different times of your Summer season. The home Depot has a great selection and if you visit the garden shop regularly during the Spring and Summer you will see the plants on display that flower at that time. They also have people there that are knowledgeable and can help you with your questions. One thing to remember is that they will replace all the plants and bushes that die on you, so save your receipts and dead plants.....KECK

Reply:the most informative sites on gardening are: www.gardenweb.com

and www.davesgardens.com

This is such a giant of a question....i spent 3 hours on just one online seed catalog today.............
Reply:Look for a book called Right Plant Right Place or something similar. Check out gardening magazines that are centered around your climate and region. Get ideas from your new neighbours, because they should know what plants work for your new home as they have tried and failed and succeeded already. Go to the garden center closest to your new home and ask them to help with plant choices that should work. Most of all have fun and don't be afraid to get dirty.
